OBITUARY. MR. J. TURNBULL OBITUARY. MR. J. TURNBULL. Yet another of the old identities of the Orange district has passed away to the bourne from which no traveller returns. To-day it is our regrettable duty to have to record the demise of Mr. John R. Turnbull, an old and highly respected resident of March, at the age of 77 years, the sad event occurring on Monday night. Deceased had been ailing for a period of 12 months, with an affection of the throat. Latterly it became inevitable that the protracted and painful ailment must terminate fatally. The sorrow which the death has occasioned among the relatives and friends is tempered by the reflection that the spirit has at last been released from a suffering tenement. Mr. Turnbull, who was a farmer, had resided in the March district for a period extending over forty years. He leaves a widow and four sons and three daughters, and a wide circle of friends to lament their loss. Messrs James, William, and Stewart Turnbull are sons of the deceased, and Mrs. Quick (Orange), Mrs. Finch (Orange), and Mrs. Cottier (Newcastle) are the daughters. The funeral will take place this afternoon, the cortege leaving the deceased's late residence at 2.30 p.m.,for the general cemetery at March. Mr. Frank Ford has charge of the funeral arrangements.
