Throughout the records for both Edward Mackey and Elizabeth Mackey, the spelling of the last name has fluctuated.
These names have included:

I have selected the spelling "MACKEY" as that was the name used by Edward in the 63rd Regiment of Foot Muster Records.

The John Knox, which had been built in Quebec, Canada in 1849 was almost brand new. The John Knox was a wooden sailing ship made of Oak, Hackmatac and Pine.
The ship’s Captain was Captain Richard Davidson and the Surgeon Superintendent, was who was also emigrating to Sydney with his wife and children, was Dr Richard Greenup.
