I am currently researching Robert Devlin Smyth line. I have information I am willing to share. Robert Smyth line is researched back to 1200 on lds.org which I submitted in 1990. But I am currently researching and writing a family history. I have a copy of his marriage certificate to Mary Jane Mackey. I can not find his first wife Sarah Robinson info. I have information on his military discharge paper. I am trying to find correct infro on his children that died in India. Lds.org has several death locations for first child which died in India while in military service. After he was released from military service he travels to America on the ship Marshfield with Mary Jane and 2 children. He crosses the plains to the Utah Territory.

I am trying to find the individual that might have inherited Viola Bidgoods copy of Robert Devlin Smyth family history in his own handwriting and his family bible. I believe she is the individual who died at 102 in 2002. She is related to Robert through Nora Smyth.

I am trying to find the individual who inherited Robert Devlin Smyth military watch after Lawrence Evans died in 1971. He also has his military discharge papers the original. I would like photographs of them. There are interesting facts on these papers I will share with you.

Mary Jane Mackey life story is like a novel. It was one of my favorite stories as a child I liked. She travels to India and China with her father Edward Mackey while in English military service. Her mother dies in India with her siblings. Her father is discharged and travelling home to England dies at sea. She is raised by her aunt and uncle in the Castle Cormin who are caretakers. She marries Robert and goes back to India with him. Her child dies there.
Robert and she come to America on Ship Marshfield. Crossing the plain her one year old Joseph dies in an accident. There lives are interesting.

I have details on many events but I am looking for more before I write. I am willing to share. Please share anything you have with me.
I am not focusing on Edward Mackey family but found some interesting information.

You have Elizabeth dying before 1880. Mary Jane Mackey Smyth writes on Oct. 26, 1876 that her 3 siblings Sarah, Elizabeth and John were deceased at that time. I can research into her church to find out if she knows when.

I have a picture of Mary Jane Mackey Smyth in Ireland or England about when she is 17 years old.. It hangs in the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers 3 floor North Bedroom West Wall. It was donated in 1951 by a granddaughter Ada Arnold Kerby. Maybe you are curious what siblings looked like. You can order copies on line

Edward Mackey served 1.5 years in Portugal before going to Australia. Mary Jane claims he died at sea returning from China. But military wise, I think he was returning from Burma after serving in India. She had to be a child about 10 years and the oldest eye witness for the little girls maybe she didn't realize what areas she was really in. To Mary Jane a young child it was all the East Indies.
