Childhood spent in Leichhardt area.
School: Crystal Street, Petersham. Preferred scrubbing and polishing a 2 storey house to attending school. No scholastic achievements.
Met husband when 13 years old. Friendship grew and blossomed until she married William Henry Jonas Nolan at the age of 19 in 1920.
Two daughters, Joyce and Beryl, issue of the union.
During World War II, workded in a voluntary capacity manning the telephones in Sydney's underground air raid shelters.
In 1950, bought property at Hardy's Bay (NSW Central Coast) and built in 1952 preparatory to thier retirement in March 1962.
Worked in a voluntary capacity for the Red Cross Hospital Auxillary, Hardy's Bay Branch.
