about JamesZadock and Martha Martin. Martha didn't marry again. She supported herself through midwifery and taking in foster children. I've seen a baptismal record for Edgar Havelock, father George Moran ( at least that's what the writing looks like). So far unable to find any other record of Moran. Frustrating.

Hi Megan.
Been a while, I think the last time I made contact was last Oct.
Have found out quite a bit since then, thought you might be interested.
I appears that Martha MARTIN already had a child when she married James Zadock BELLAMY. This child was named Clara Jane MARTIN b 1868 in Parramatta (14146/1868) no father mentioned. She married Alfred E BRADDICK in 1894 and they had a least four children.
The next two children were after Martha had married James Zadock.
1. Alberta Amelia MARTIN. This is interesting because the Birth details (15394/1872) give her name as MARTIN, no father mentioned and her Baptism details (V1872 6239/1872) give mother Martha father James BELLAMY. Alberta married Thomas ATKINS in 1895. They had no children.
2. Florence Matilda BELLAMY. I can find only one record for Florence (16958/1874) which gives father James and mother Martha. Florence married Joseph VEITCH in 1896 and had eight children.
As we know James Zadock died 6 Mar 1875. He was 76yrs old when Florence Matilda was born.
The next child of Martha was my grandfather Edgar Havelock BELLAMY. Here it becomes even more interesting. In Edgar's Birth details (18338/1877) his father is "Illegitimate". In his Baptism details it gives the father as George MORAN.(V121C 6292).
The last child born to Martha that I can find is Hannah Maude. I have not yet verified this but it appears that Hannah Maude's father was a Thomas GILBERT. Hannah Maude married John Harold CRANNEY in 1900.
Obviously the person that interests me most is George MORAN. I have found a George that fits the bill, right age and all but he was married to Martha's half sister Mary BOWERMAN at the time, but you never know.
This probably is not your main line of research but I thought you might find it interesting.

(b. 1845).Martha Spencer Martin was the daughter of Frank Spencer and Amelia Martin. Amelia later married Richard Bowerman, and their daughter, Susannah (b. 1850) who was Martha Bellamy's half-sister, married James Bellamy jnr. (as his second wife) in 1875. Two daughters were born of the second marriage of James Bellamy sen.... Alberta Amelia (b. 1873) and Florence Matilda (b. 1874). James died on 6th March, 1875 and was buried in St. Paul's alongside Hannah. His young widow took her daughters to live in Factory Street, Parramatta, where she worked as a midwife for many years. She looked after State Wards along with her own family"
