Ted Manners was an Original Hand Coach Painter, after his father, and during World War II was in the 8th Field Company Engineers. He was captured and spent the war in Changi Prisoner of War Camp, Singapore.

The had 2 children : Harry Frank Turnbull Miller (5 June 1881-22 June1950) and Maud Miller (died 4 May 1899 aged 24 yrs).
