Roger was one of six knights who was to guide Prince Edward, later to become King Edward II, in military matters. Soon after Edward became king, Roger was appointed as Justiciar of Wales. He married Lucia de Wafre.

1846 Experimental Squadron Portsmouth, Thursday, April 23 Superb, Captain A. L. Cony, Sir W. Symonds constructor, 80 guns, 2589 tons. July 1846 The Squadron of Evolution at Cove. Summer Cruise. With respect to the movements of the squadron we are informed, that they are under orders to proceed again to sea after a delay of three days to water - that they will cruise towards Bantry, and anchor for some time in that splendid bay, where, as we are informed, it is intended that the crews and marines shall be landed and exercised in warlike tactics, landing at night, and such like evolutions, the object of the present trials being to exercise the crews and manoeuvre them in naval operations. Daniel Bede O'KEEFE (1869-1937), Accountant, was born in 1869. He married Honorah Hanrahan in Gerringong, New South Wales, Australia in 1898, the marriage producing three children: Francis Bede (1899-1946), Elizabeth Patricia (1901-dec.) and John Hanrahan (1904-1966). He died in Woollahra, New South Wales, Australia on Saturday 27th March 1937 and was buried at Roman Catholic portion, Botany Cemetery, Botany, New South Wales, Australia.

Jeremiah HANRAHAN (1832-1882), Farmer, the son of John Hanrahan and Honora Hanrahan née DORAN, was born in Bansha, Tipperary, Ireland in 1832. He married Ellen Duggan in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia in 1857, the marriage producing three children: Thomas (1863-1935), Maria (1865-1887) and Jeremiah (1867-1936). He died (cause of death: Inflammation of the lungs) in Gerringong, New South Wales, Australia on Friday 18th August 1882 and was buried at Roman Catholic portion, Gerringong Cemetery, Gerringong, New South Wales, Australia on Sunday 20th August 1882.
