Some records show that Thomas, Elizabeth, Jane, and William were children of Ann and Edward, so there is a possiblity that ALL the children of Edward were Ann's and not Margaret's.

Not much is known of Hogan 's early life. The family was Lutheran before they heard the Mormon missionaries. Times were difficult before they joined the Church, but afterwards, it became almost impossible for his father to obtain employment. They finally gathered together enough money to emigrate to the Valley in 1863 . They came with the Murdock ox wagon train but there were some in the group who pulled handcarts, and the Beckstrom Family was one of these. Hogan 's wife pulled the handcart most of the way. After their arrival in Salt Lake , and a brief stay, they settled in Milton, Weber Valley, Morgan County, Utah , where they lived for seven years. Their first home was a dugout. In the spring of 1870 , they moved to Spanish Fork where, after a couple of years and the death of a child, Hogan built them a nice home. He made most of the furniture himself. He learned so much about carpentering that he became quite skilled at the work. He also kept a farm. He was a deeply religious man and helped his fellow men whenever possible. He was a fine teacher in the ward and a writer. He was one of two winners in a contest writing about Joseph Smith . He and his wife taught the children the principles of honesty, obedience, and prayer. The children were forbidden to swear. Fredrica was a fine seamstress and cook, and she and her husband provided a good example for their children. Children: John Niels/Nils Johan , b. 4 Jun 1851 , St. Petri, Malmo, Malmohus, Sweden .
