Elizabeth Mitchell was a passenger aboard The Ship Broxbornebury which sailed from England on Tuesday, 22 February 1814 and arrived in Sydney, NSW on 28 July 1814 under the Master Thomas Pitcher Jnr. The Broxbornebury left England in the company of the Surrey but were separated during the voyage. The Surrey was stricken with a virulent form of typhus during her voyage and lost her Captain, Surgeon and many others. The Broxbournebury came upon the Surrey off the coast of Shoalhaven, NSW and put a crew aboard the stricken Surrey to bring her into Sydney.

At some time in the next two years, Laurence again joins the Royal Navy and his name appears on the Roll Call of Officers taking part in the Battle of Trafalgar, October 1805. Laurence's name appears among the Officers of HMS Britannia, the Flag Ship of Rear Admiral William Carnegie, Earl of Northesk. His position is that of the Chaplin on board. Gov. Macquarie, John Macarthur, Simeon Lord and Thomas Brisbane were so taken with Laurence that they helped him to establish a School "for Classical, Mathematical and Commercial Education" ( aka Dr. Halloran's establishment for Liberal Education) which he opened in 1820, and which eventually came to be known as The Sydney Grammar School. Support was not unanimous though.

I have just received Victoria May Olliff nee Murray Death printout in the post and it says she was born Sydney, Australia on 21/10/1911
It gives parents as Ernest Lawrence Murray and Florence mary Murray nee Marryot
It says she has been in NZ for 61 years so arrived in 1921/1922 with her siblings and parents
I know we have tried to find a birth record for her with no luck so far.
Where do we go from here.
Also Florence did not marry Ernest till 1914 I am waiting for their marriage transcription to see if Florence was divorced from her first husband or a widow.
Thanks
Newbe
